The truth about the HSUS.  You often see ads and hear claims about how much the HSUS cares for animals and helps them in times of need.  The truth of the matter is that the HSUS does not own a single animal shelter in the United States and while they rake in millions of dollars from donations very little actually goes to helping animal shelters. Most of the donation money goes to lobbying for unreasonable legislation that is working to eventually make it impossible to own pets that enrich our lives.  If you really want to make a difference in the lives of shelter dogs, please donate to your locally owned and operated animal shelter.  They will use the funds to actually care for animals and not on a political agenda that could affect your right to own a pet.
